Another trip around the sun...we made it. It wasn't a pretty year but it wasn't the worst in human history either. So let's start by saying, "Happy New Year! Here's to 2017!"
I found something out about myself right near the end of 2016, something I didn't know, something a couple of friends brought up...I go from zero to a hundred. I decide to do something and I fully commit. For example a couple years ago I decided to become a vegan...I was a huge meat eater and was a vegan for 2 years.
I didn't recognize this in myself. I never thought about it. It never registered. Leave it to a friend to point it out then that's all you notice. I don't just get a hair cut, I change it drastically. Recently I decided to join a 30 day Barre3 Challenge and I've never done Barre3. I commit. Which is probably a good trait to have but was still something of a shock when it was brought up. Obsessive? Probably...like listening to Love on the Brain a million times! Little story short...Ride or Die.
Rambling aside it brings me to the new year. I have read a lot of articles recently with titles like, New Year, New You, I hate that. I have worked pretty hard to be me...and I like me so why would I want to become completely different? Then I found an article from Well+Good that hit the spot...or should I say wrote down what I had been searching for. Read the article...it's great but what I got was don't change you just "re-new." Improve and don't delete who you are because you've worked hard to be who you are and anyway who you are is awesome but everyone can become greater or learn something new! So let's do it...let's do it for 2017!
Raise a glass, be it a pint from Pueblo Vida or a smoothie from home, here is to 2017! May your challenges be worth it, may your year be filled with laughter and love, and here is to one more trip around the sun. Stay Wild.
